Upper School Model UN Hosts Middle School Tournament
Abby Abbott, Assistant Head of Upper School & Model UN Advisor
On Dec. 8, members of the Upper School Model United Nations Executive Board Reese Kubick '25, Malcolm Stewart '24, and Samantha Gerber '25 organized and ran an in-house Model United Nations tournament for Middle School students. Prior to the event, Upper School MUN Leaders hosted a training session to prepare Middle School students for what to expect during their first simulation. Sixteen middle schoolers participated in a General Assembly simulation based on the California Gold Rush. Our Model United Nations team helps craft leadership, diplomacy, collaboration, and problem-solving skills based on current and past real-world scenarios. This particular conference was especially impactful because of the mentorship opportunities it provided between our Middle School and Upper School teams as well as the fantastic leadership experience for our Executive Board.
